Eye Exams
We offer comprehensive eye exams for adults and seniors, as well as children. The exam includes a thorough evaluation of your vision, eye health, and overall health.
The diagnostic technology we use during eye exams helps us detect potential issues early so we can provide preventive care to help manage them before they get worse.
Our doctors pride themselves on creating a welcoming environment for all of our patients, and we look forward to seeing you at your next eye exam.
Myopia Control
Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a vision condition that can affect children from a young age. Our team wants to help your children enjoy clear and healthy vision. Foresee Eyecare participates in the MiSight Vision Diffusion Optics Technology pilot program.
We also offer a variety of myopia control methods, such as ortho-k contact lenses and MiYOSMART spectacle lenses, to help your children excel both inside and outside the classroom.
Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eye is a common condition that can cause symptoms like eye irritation, discomfort, blurry vision, and watery eyes. Our optometrists can work with you to identify the possible underlying causes of your symptoms and help you get relief.
From dry eye screenings to a variety of treatment options, such as IPL therapy, radiofrequency treatments, ZEST treatment, and more, we provide a comprehensive approach that can help address your symptoms.
Our goal is to help you get back to everyday activities in comfort.
Vision Therapy
Vision therapy is a specialty program that can help correct some vision conditions in both kids and adults. Our vision therapy programs can help with lazy eye (amblyopia), crossed eyes (strabismus), eye misalignment, focusing problems, and even reading and learning difficulties.
We implement innovative vision therapy methods like the VTS4-HoloLens and Vivid Vision VR to find new ways to help kids and adults.
How Often Should You Go to the Eye Doctor?
Consistent eye exams are important for your vision and overall health. Our doctors can help create an exam schedule that works for you, and we recommend the following exam frequencies:
- Children: School-aged children should get an eye exam every year.
- Healthy Adults (20–64): Healthy adults should have an eye exam every 2 years at the minimum.
- Adults (65+): People 65 and older should have an annual eye exam.
Our doctors may recommend a different exam schedule based on your risk factors and unique eye health needs.
What Does OD Mean for Eye Doctors?
An OD (Doctor of Optometry) is your primary eye care provider, serving as a family doctor for your eyes. An eye doctor can diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, prescribe medications and prescriptions, and provide corrective lenses.
Ophthalmologists are also medical doctors, but they focus more on treating eye diseases through surgical options.
What Happens During an Eye Exam?
An eye exam with our optometrists in Richmond Hill includes a discussion about your overall health and a thorough history of your eye health. Your exam may also include:
- A discussion of your current eye problems or concerns
- Vision tests to assess near and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision
- Tests that check the alignment of your eyes and pupil reflexes
Eye pressure tests to screen for glaucoma
