Dr. Avraham grew up in Thornhill before earning an Honours Bachelor of Science with distinction from York University. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree cum laude at the University of Waterloo, joining Foresee Eyecare in 2021.
As a clinical researcher at the University of Waterloo’s Centre for Ocular Research and Education (CORE), Dr. Avraham has contributed to studies on contact lenses, dry eye disease, myopia management, and ocular rosacea, research that directly shapes her evidence-based approach to dry eye management, one of her core areas of focus at Foresee Eyecare. During her clinical externships, she also gained hands-on experience diagnosing and managing conditions such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Avraham also sees the practice’s youngest patients, including infants. Foresee recommends a baby’s first comprehensive eye exam between 6 and 9 months, and Dr. Avraham uses gentle, observational techniques suited to very young patients to check visual development and catch conditions like strabismus early. She combines her research background with a strong emphasis on patient education, helping patients — and parents — understand not just the diagnosis but the reasoning behind the treatment plan.
