Dr. Timothy Tsang, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Timothy H. Tsang, OD, FAAO is a Canadian optometrist, educator, clinical researcher, and co-founder of Foresee Eyecare in Vaughan, Ontario serving patients from Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Maple, the Greater Toronto Area, and internationally. Dr. Tsang provides comprehensive eye exams and advanced optometric care with clinical expertise in myopia management, contact lenses, dry eye disease, ocular emergencies, glaucoma treatment and management, diabetic eye care, and complex ocular diseases.
Dr. Tsang graduated from Crescent School and earned an Honourable Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with Specialization from the University of Toronto. He then attended and graduated Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry with his Doctor of Optometry degree and completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease, of which only 20% of Optometrists complete. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an honor held by only 10 percent of North American optometrists.
Dr. Tsang served at the Illinois College of Optometry as an Assistant Professor and attending optometrist, working across primary care, advanced care, and emergency eye care clinics. Within his first year of teaching, he was honoured by the institution as the Clinical Educator of the Year in 2007–2008.
Committed to clinical education and mentorship, Dr. Tsang has served as a Clinical Instructor with both the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and the Illinois College of Optometry and teaches Optometry interns in their final year of clinical training at Foresee Eyecare. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at the Illinois College of Optometry. His academic and educational work has included roles as an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at Waterloo, question writer and blueprint committee member for the Touchstone Institute’s International Optometric Bridging Program, and Clinical Examiner for both the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Tsang has contributed to optometric research, professional education, and industry innovation in areas including myopia control, multifocal contact lenses, dry eye disease, glaucoma care, and retinal imaging. He has served as a Key Opinion Leader for CooperVision Canada, Clarion Medical, and Retinalogik Inc., advising on emerging treatments, diagnostic technologies, and clinical applications in modern eye care. His peer-reviewed publications have appeared in Optometry and Vision Science, and his research and poster presentations have been featured at American Academy of Optometry annual meetings.
Dr. Tsang’s professional leadership includes service on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, chairing the Scope of Practice Expansion Committee, leading continuing education initiatives, and serving on the Clinical Practice Panel and Strategic Planning Committees of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. He has also served as an editorial reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Optometry and Optometry and Vision Science Journals.
